The Driving Academy contains both our in-house Driving School and a coveted paid Driver Mentorship Program.
Driver Mentorship Program
After you graduate from our in-house Driving School, it is time to enter our coveted Driver Mentorship Program. This Driver Mentorship Program includes 6-months of on-the-road training delivering real freight for real clients. Meanwhile, we pay you a competitive salary and safety bonuses while you train!
The Driver Mentorship Program is the first of its kind.
The program provides excellent training through a dedicated and specialized strategy, where an experienced driver (mentor) is paired with a less experienced or new driver (mentee), in order to guide the mentee in developing the skills that the mentee requires to perform his/her job adequately. The mentor shares his/her skills, knowledge, best practices and experience with the mentee.

CO-OP PROGRAM
As we place an eye on the horizon, our strategy is to continue diversifying our workforce with young talent eager to work hard in our industry. One specific demonstration of this commitment to young talent recruitment is the recent establishment of our company’s first-ever co-op student placement program.
In 2021 we collaborated with the University of Calgary and Mount Royal University to establish career service development partnerships, to interact with their campus communities and to generate deep engagement across business faculties with an acute focus on supply chain majors.
In 2022, we doubled our post secondary partnerships, engaging SAIT and Bow Valley College. Throughout this entire process, we partnered with Trucking HR Canada to fund the program and ensure business-sustainability.

This is why every summer we assess opportunities to match meaningful and appropriate office work to high school summer students.
Our Inaugural Internship Program launched in 2021, partnered with CAREERS Next Generation.
Based on the positive experience of our first summer intern, Light Speed Logistics will continue collaborating with CAREERS to support the development of future summer internship opportunities.
